FAQ

I’d like to commission a piece. Where do I start?

Get in touch! Email info@zachmann.com (email is easiest since Jeff is a little hard of hearing). We’ll start a conversation to get you exactly what you’re looking for. After placing a down payment, creation of the sculpture will begin. Most sculptures take a few weeks to complete. We’ll ask for your shipping information to calculate shipping costs, and the sculpture will go out shortly thereafter. Simple!

How do I hang my sculpture?

How are sculptures shipped?

Sculptures are generally shipped in a custom-built crate through UPS or freight, depending on size of sculpture.

Are sculptures insured when they are in transit?

Yes, it’s part of the overall shipping payment.

How long does it take to build a sculpture?

A sculpture can take anywhere from a few days to a month or so to complete. It all depends on the size and complexity of the sculpture and what commissions and obligations Jeff has in his schedule at the time.

Can I get a wall-hanging sculpture turned into a floor standing piece?

For many pieces, yes. It depends on the framework of the piece. If you’re interested, be sure to ask! Please note there is an extra charge for this customization.

Can I get a floor-standing piece turned into a wall-hanging piece?

Yes, you may! Please note there is an extra charge for this customization.

Does my sculpture need to be plugged in?

Yes, it does. The pieces run on a low-voltage motor, controlled by an on/off switch. It can simply be plugged into any regular household outlet (Outside of US- may need converter).

Can I request certain colors, numbers, or shapes for my piece?

You may! Talk to Jeffrey about what you’re interested in seeing in your piece, and he will do his absolute best to work your wishes into his artistic vision (something to remember: the sculpture is, at the end of the day, an art piece created by the artist).

Can I see plans for my sculpture before it’s built?

Jeff’s artistic process does not include preplanning. Each piece is built from the top down straight out of his head. Jeff will send you a picture of your piece when it is in its final stages of creation for approval.

Where can I see videos of the sculptures?

If a sculpture has a video made of it, it will appear on the Portfolio page of the website. Video also lives on Jeff’s Youtube channel. If a sculpture does not have a video of it posted on the Portfolio page, then one, for various reasons including time constraints after creation, does not exist. If Jeff has the sculpture in his possession, you may request one be made and he will do his best to fulfill your request.

How are the sculptures priced?

All sculptures are priced based on their size, shape, and complexity.

Are commissioned pieces more expensive than the pieces that travel to shows?

No. Prices are always based on the size, shape, and complexity of the sculpture. A commissioned piece of the same size, shape, and complexity as a ready-made piece will be the same price.
